Consumer Protection Cases
When large corporations cheat thousands, or even millions, of consumers out of relatively small sums of money, a class action is sometimes the only realistic method by which consumers can be compensated and the defendants punished. We vigorously prosecute such cases. For example, when our firm learned that a network of fly-by-night “debt settlement” companies were fleecing consumers of millions of dollars annually, we located the payment processing company behind the transactions and sued them in federal court. Following several years of litigation, the payment processing company is no longer in business, our plaintiffs have received a class-wide default judgment, and the firm successfully pursued the company's surety bonds in order to obtain compensation for the consumers.
Our consumer protection cases often involve:
- Unfair and deceptive trade practices
- False advertising
- Data breach/identify theft
